Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Rash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Midgard!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midgard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rash as he jumps to the side.
Tyson Midgard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rash bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Midgard's head backwards.
Crunch! Midgard slams his shin into Rash's torso.
Midgard throws a head kick that half lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rash drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Midgard is keeping the position for now.
Rash wants to control from the top but Midgard keeps moving.
Midgard has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rash should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Midgard has tightened it up now! Rash should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
