The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Randy leaves golodupcev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

It looks like vasiliy golodupcev has been cut.

Saint Randy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. golodupcev was covering up waiting for the punch and Saint Randy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
golodupcev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Still in half guard, Saint Randy seems content to control.

Saint Randy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but golodupcev circles away quickly and effectively.
golodupcev really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Saint Randy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics golodupcev uses from the top position.
