Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Renars Undelis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffrey John Gailfus!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Undelis fails with the takedown.
Undelis gets a takedown into half guard.
Undelis trying to control the action but Gailfus is working from the bottom.
Undelis wants to work for an arm triangle but Gailfus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Undelis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gailfus is not content to let Undelis control the position.
Undelis is working for a kimura here but Gailfus manages to reverse the position and he's now in Undelis's guard.
Gailfus wants to get up but he can't break Undelis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gailfus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Undelis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gailfus is controlling him.
Gailfus thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Undelis pushes Gailfus off and gets back to his feet.
Gailfus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Undelis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gailfus looks gassed!
Gailfus keeping moving, preventing Undelis from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gailfus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Undelis is aware though and is defending well.
Undelis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gailfus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Undelis is pushing down on Gailfus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gailfus is fighting to maintain full guard but Undelis has managed to sneak the leg through.
Undelis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gailfus is just riding it out for now. Undelis eventually gives up the hold.
Undelis is thwarting Gailfus's attempts to control the position.
Undelis is trying for a kimura here. Gailfus looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Undelis wins by kimura!
