Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green comes to the cage accompanied by Jethro Tull. Solo Green has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Solo Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sir Kharitonov! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Green with that takedown attempt. Sir Kharitonov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kharitonov tries to close the distance and clinch but Green swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Green doesn't manage to clinch there - Kharitonov circles away.
Kharitonov tries to clinch but Green moves out of range. Kharitonov closes the distance but Green moves to the side and Green counters with a shoot takedown. Kharitonov fights it but they end up in guard. Green trying to control the position from guard on top but Kharitonov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kharitonov looking to control.
Green postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Green pushing down on Kharitonov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Green performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kharitonov trying to hold on to Green's head to control him but Green postures up.

Green looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kharitonov tries to roll over but Green keeps him under control. Green seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kharitonov is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
Green is breathing heavily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kharitonov with a poor takedown and Green moves into the clinch. Green drags the fight down to the ground.
Green keeping full guard, as Kharitonov tries to pass. Green is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kharitonov defends well. Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kharitonov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kharitonov trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kharitonov with a flurry of punches that miss. Kharitonov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kharitonov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Green looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kharitonov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kharitonov wants to stand but Green has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kharitonov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kharitonov wants to clinch but Green slips to the side and Green counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kharitonov tries to circle away but Green has him pinned against the cage. Kharitonov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Green pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kharitonov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Green manages to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Solo Green dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Kharitonov shoots for a double leg takedown but Green sprawls well. He's pushed Kharitonov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kharitonov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kharitonov misses with a series of wild punches.
Kharitonov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Green moves away. Green will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Horrible takedown by Kharitonov or perhaps it was just good defense by Green which made him look bad. Kharitonov fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kharitonov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Green won't allow Kharitonov to sweep him here. Kharitonov pulls Green in close to prevent any damage. Green preventing the sweep. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Kharitonov is retaining full guard. Green wants to control from the top but Kharitonov keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kharitonov can do anything to dispel that myth. Kharitonov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Green is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kharitonov shoots and misses and Green counters with a nice double leg into guard. Solo Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sir Kharitonov. Green wants to control from the top but Kharitonov keeps moving. Kharitonov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kharitonov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kharitonov is looking to stand up but Green isn't so interested in that idea. Kharitonov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kharitonov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Green. No joy for Kharitonov on that attempt. Green checks the leg kick. Kharitonov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Green tries to close the distance and clinch but Kharitonov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Green blocks the body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Green stuffs the takedown attempt from Kharitonov. Kharitonov gets slowly back to his feet. Green shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kharitonov but Kharitonov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kharitonov looks for a takedown but Green sprawls well. The fight stays on the outside here - Kharitonov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Green fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kharitonov wants to clinch up but Green keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Solo Green dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Green drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Green jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Green thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kharitonov wants to sweep but no luck.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kharitonov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Green was covering up waiting for the punch and Kharitonov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kharitonov wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position. Green looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kharitonov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Green swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kharitonov's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kharitonov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Green has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kharitonov has managed to get both his arms back between Green's legs - danger averted. Green looking for a guillotine here but Kharitonov defends easily.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Solo Green. Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
