The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Belfort.
Hacker avoids a kick to the body.
Belfort tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hacker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Belfort shoots in for a double leg but Hacker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Belfort closes the distance and clinches up with Hacker, looking for a takedown. Belfort pushes Hacker against the cage but Hacker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hacker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
