Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz moves into the clinch.
Sub's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Diaz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sub.
Sub tries to pull guard but Diaz won't allow it.
Diaz lands a nice shot to the body.
Diaz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sub regains guard.
Diaz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Sub trying to keep a closed guard but Diaz is proving a slippery customer.
Sub is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Diaz holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sub can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sub pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now.
Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sub gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Diaz is looking for a triangle but Sub pushes his legs off easily.

Sub trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sub defends it easily.
Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Sub defends easily.
Sub tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard.
Diaz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Sub got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sub has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
Sub drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sub jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sub wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.
