Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Saburo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Kasugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kane Kasugi!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kasugi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Saburo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kasugi trying to control the position from guard on top but Saburo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Saburo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kasugi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kasugi staying calm.
Kasugi lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Saburo down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kasugi lands some shots froms side control.
Saburo stops Kasugi from passing to mount.
Kasugi trying to control the position but Saburo is working away.
Saburo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kasugi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kasugi grinds an elbow into Saburo's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saburo regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kasugi's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Kasugi scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Saburo is not content to let Kasugi control the position.
Saburo manages to get to full guard.
Saburo wants to sweep but no luck.
Saburo is breathing heavily.
Saburo is working hard here to advance position.
Saburo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kasugi kicks off Saburo and gets to his feet.

Kasugi looks to land a combination but Saburo avoids it well.
Saburo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kasugi pinned against the cage. Kasugi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

It looks like Adam Saburo has been cut.

Saburo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kasugi keeping full guard, as Saburo tries to pass.
Kasugi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Saburo's guard.
Kasugi distracts Saburo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Saburo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Saburo is not content to let Kasugi control the position.
You can see the frustration on Saburo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kasugi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Saburo throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kasugi wants to clinch up but Saburo keeps it at a distance.

and Saburo counters with a single leg into guard. Kasugi didn't expect that.
Saburo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Saburo wants to control from the top but Kasugi keeps moving.
Kasugi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Saburo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kasugi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Saburo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kasugi moves into the clinch successfully.

so Saburo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Saburo wants to stand but Kasugi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kasugi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Saburo controls the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Saburo wants to control from the top but Kasugi keeps moving.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Saburo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kasugi to score with a decent uppercut.

Saburo throws a strike but Kasugi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kasugi wants to pass the guard but Saburo is keeping the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kasugi gets a takedown into half guard.
Saburo tries to roll over but Kasugi keeps him under control.
Kasugi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kasugi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Saburo is looking to improve his position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kasugi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kasugi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kasugi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Saburo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kasugi lands a nice shot to the head.
Poor strikes thrown by Kasugi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Saburo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kasugi.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kasugi is landing with some decent strikes but Saburo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kasugi is trying for a kimura here. Saburo looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kasugi wins by kimura!
