The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Victor shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Victor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Victor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Victor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fitzpatrick's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Victor connects with a nice short shot to Fitzpatrick's temple.
Fitzpatrick is trying to stand up here but Victor is controlling him well.
