Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wrestling Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Pheonix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast swats away the attempt to clinch by Pheonix.
Beast takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Pheonix keeping moving, preventing Beast from controlling successfully.
Beast trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Beast wants to control from the top but Pheonix keeps moving.
Pheonix is looking to stand up but Beast isn't so interested in that idea.

Pheonix wants to stand and escape but Beast is having none of it.
Beast will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Beast is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Pheonix tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Beast wants to control but Pheonix is keeping him busy.

Pheonix is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Beast has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Beast decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pheonix to his feet.
Beast really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Beast is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pheonix sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pheonix is squirming around, avoiding Beast's attempts to control the action.

Pheonix's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Beast in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Pheonix is looking to get to half guard.
Pheonix tries to lock up and control but Beast gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pheonix keeps control of Beast as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Beast is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pheonix pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Beast is trying to trip Pheonix. He has hold of a leg but Pheonix is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Beast persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Beast is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pheonix is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Beast makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Beast.
Pheonix must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pheonix throws and elbow that misses. Beast uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pheonix's guard. Nice move by Beast!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Beast lands a nice short elbow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pheonix is in trouble now - Beast has advanced to mount!
Pheonix reaches up to try and control the position but Beast seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Pheonix rolls and tries to escape and now Beast has his back!
Pheonix has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Pheonix throws a leg kick which misses Beast's front leg but catches the back leg as Beast tries to avoid it.
Beast doesn't manage to clinch there - Pheonix circles away.
Pheonix wants to clinch up but Beast keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Beast leaning his opponent against the ropes.
Pheonix can't break the clinch.
Beast tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pheonix smiles and moves away.
Pheonix lands with a thumping leg kick.
Pheonix gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Beast counters with a takedown into side control.
Beast scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pheonix to see if he's OK.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pheonix can't do much from the bottom here.
Beast is staying tight to Pheonix's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Beast working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Beast stands up and beckons Pheonix to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wrestling Beast overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Beast would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pheonix looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beast is one step ahead there.

Beast stands and steps away. Pheonix gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Wrestling Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Pheonix.
Pheonix is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Beast wants to control from the top but Pheonix keeps moving.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
