Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lew Shelby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes has chosen I gotta feeling as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lew Shelby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Hayes!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shelby.
Hayes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shelby swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shelby misses with a straight left.

Hayes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shelby tries to avoid it but Hayes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shelby to the ground. Shelby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hayes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hayes pushes Shelby up against the cage in a clinch.
Hayes gets control of Shelby's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hayes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hayes has his feet on Shelby's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Shelby takes a swing at Hayes's ribcage but misses.
Shelby is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hayes.
A slow jab from Hayes misses its intended target.
Shelby lands a left and a right that send Hayes crashing to the mat, dazed. Shelby thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hayes is rocked!
It looks like Marcus Hayes has been cut.
Hayes leaves his chin hanging out and Shelby seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Hayes crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lew Shelby!
