Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Swiftwater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swiftwater is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: NEON. On his way into the cage it seems that Julio Jose has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Julio Jose seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julio Jose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glenn Swiftwater! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by Jose. Jose throws a jab when Swiftwater was well out of range. Swiftwater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jose looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Swiftwater is thwarting Jose's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swiftwater is looking to take a break and control but Jose is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Swiftwater moves into full mount! Jose won't be happy about that! Jose wants to control but Swiftwater is having none of it. Swiftwater is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jose has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Swiftwater with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jose tries to reverse the position but Swiftwater maintains control.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Swiftwater cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jose is in a horrible position here. Swiftwater smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Swiftwater has control of Jose's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jose regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jose is looking to get to half guard. Swiftwater working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jose is desperately trying to improve his position but Swiftwater has a good base and remains in mount. Swiftwater punishing his opponent with strikes. Jose is squirming around, avoiding Swiftwater's attempts to control the action. Swiftwater avoids the attempt from Jose to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jose knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swiftwater on the ground. Jose is wriggling around trying to escape.
Swiftwater with shots to the head and body - Jose looks very uncomfortable down there. Jose wants to hold on but Swiftwater pushes him away. Swiftwater goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jose turns into him and now he's in Swiftwater's guard.
Jose is breathing heavily. Jose gets to his feet. Swiftwater looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Swiftwater misses with a wild body shot. Swiftwater slips under a jab. Jose looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nice sprawl there from Jose as Swiftwater shoots in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jose on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jose stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jose wants it to stay on the feet. Swiftwater misses with a takedown attempt - Jose sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Julio Jose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glenn Swiftwater. Jose misses with the combination.
Jose thuds his right hand into Swiftwater's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jose looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Swiftwater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jose is in trouble now - Swiftwater has advanced to mount! Jose is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Swiftwater locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Jose is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Glenn Swiftwater!
