The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards shoots in for a double leg but Bell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Edwards has a takedown stuffed.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Edwards - that will leave a mark!
Edwards throws a big shot that misses.
Edwards throws a body punch but Bell moves out of range.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zack Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Edwards tries for a takedown but Bell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bell throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bell throws an overhand right that lands on Edwards's shoulder, as Edwards tries to avoid the shot.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bell as he jumps to the side.
Edwards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice shot lands for Bell.
Horrible takedown by Edwards or perhaps it was just good defense by Bell which made him look bad.
Edwards is breathing heavily.
Edwards shoots in and drives through. Bell sprawls well.
A jab lands there for Bell.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Edwards throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bell's waist but Bell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edwards off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bell darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Edwards's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Bell before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stringer Bell!
