Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Franzelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Zuyderlicht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Franzelius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gerard Zuyderlicht!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zuyderlicht throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Franzelius.
Zuyderlicht tries to clinch up.
Franzelius fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gerard Zuyderlicht seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Franzelius or perhaps it was just good defense by Zuyderlicht which made him look bad.
Zuyderlicht drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Franzelius is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Franzelius really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Zuyderlicht content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Franzelius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Zuyderlicht is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Zuyderlicht not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Zuyderlicht is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Zuyderlicht working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Zuyderlicht thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zuyderlicht closes the distance and pushes Franzelius back into the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Franzelius looking to throw knees to the head but Zuyderlicht is blocking nicely.
Franzelius misses with a knee strike.
Zuyderlicht has Franzelius pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Franzelius manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Franzelius breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

so Zuyderlicht counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Franzelius knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zuyderlicht on the ground.

Zuyderlicht drops back looking for a leg! Franzelius is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franzelius manages to kick Zuyderlicht off! Zuyderlicht jumps back into Franzelius's guard.
Franzelius controls Zuyderlicht momentarily but Zuyderlicht frees himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zuyderlicht slips nicely into half guard.
Zuyderlicht throwing shots but Franzelius is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Franzelius looks like he's trying to stand up.
Zuyderlicht has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Franzelius is staying active underneath Zuyderlicht, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Franzelius is trying to stand.
Zuyderlicht wants to lay and pray for a moment but Franzelius keeps working.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Zuyderlicht shoots and misses
and Franzelius counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Franzelius.
Zuyderlicht working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Franzelius doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Franzelius manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zuyderlicht wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerard Zuyderlicht dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Zuyderlicht misses with a few strikes there.
Zuyderlicht fails to land the takedown.
Zuyderlicht closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Franzelius is looking to get back to his feet here but Zuyderlicht is keeping cool and he's managed to take Franzelius's back.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Zuyderlicht.
Zuyderlicht has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Franzelius is defending well but eventually Zuyderlicht manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Franzelius has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gerard Zuyderlicht!
