Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boojack Kuuzuke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Crane! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuuzuke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crane tries to avoid it but Kuuzuke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crane to the ground. Crane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kuuzuke fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Crane sprawls well initially but Kuuzuke persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Crane holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Crane trying to control here.
Crane wants to improve his position but Kuuzuke is controlling well.
Crane looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crane is looking for a sweep. Kuuzuke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kuuzuke looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Crane is looking to control Kuuzuke's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Crane avoid being mounted? Crane is doing well to control the position and prevent Kuuzuke from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuuzuke slips a nice elbow through Crane's hands, connecting with Crane's forehead. Kuuzuke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crane keeps working. Crane wants to get back to his feet.
Kuuzuke is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Crane is trying to get back to full guard. Kuuzuke landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Kuuzuke is looking to take a break and control but Crane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kuuzuke is working for a kimura but Crane is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crane is pressing down on Kuuzuke's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Crane scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kuuzuke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Crane with a poor takedown and Kuuzuke counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kuuzuke is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Crane looks to clinch and Kuuzuke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Crane moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crane looking for a takedown. Kuuzuke lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Kuuzuke tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Kuuzuke manages to pull guard.
Crane is stalling in the full guard. Kuuzuke wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Crane wants to pass the guard but Kuuzuke is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kuuzuke keeping moving, preventing Crane from controlling successfully. Crane stays in close to Kuuzuke's body and controls the position. Kuuzuke wants to stand but Crane is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boojack Kuuzuke dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Crane clinches but Kuuzuke breaks the clinch and Kuuzuke counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crane won't be happy with that. Kuuzuke in side control, throwing shots but Crane defends. Crane is looking for a sweep. Crane is not content to let Kuuzuke control the position. Crane gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kuuzuke thows a huge punch but Crane dodges it nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kuuzuke wants to stand up but Crane has a hold of him and won't allow it. Crane trying to control but Kuuzuke postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane is looking for a sweep. Kuuzuke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Crane misses with a body shot
and Kuuzuke counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Crane breaks the clinch.
Kuuzuke misses with a wild combination.
Kuuzuke wants to clinch and Crane counters with a nice body shot. Crane scores a takedown into full mount! Crane looking to isolate an arm here. Kuuzuke doesn't see it coming and as Crane extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Crane!
