Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Valdema Severino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Milani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Milani is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Silicone Curitiba. Marco Milani will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Valdema Severino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Milani! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Milani moves in looking to clinch but Severino pushes him off. Severino shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Milani is trying to defend but Severino finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Severino is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Milani is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Severino's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Severino's back! Milani controlling well, preventing Severino from escaping the position.
Milani working for the choke. Severino turns into Milani and is now in his guard.
Severino throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Milani works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Severino postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Milani is on top in guard.
Milani drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Severino dives on top into guard. Severino controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Milani will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Milani is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Milani is on top in guard.
Milani slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Severino gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Milani uses his free foot to push down on Severino's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Severino. Milani is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Severino has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Severino! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Severino works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Severino looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Milani tries to get to full guard but Severino has control of the leg. Severino slips a nice elbow through Milani's hands, connecting with Milani's forehead. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Milani is pressing down on Severino's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Milani pulls Severino in to control the position. Severino is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Milani wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Milani is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Milani is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Severino is just riding it out for now. Milani eventually gives up the hold. Milani seems to be working for a kimura but Severino defends the submission attempt. Milani looks gassed! Severino gets full guard. Severino wants to stand but Milani is controlling the position. Milani tries to free his leg and advance position but Severino is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Severino trying to control the position.
Milani working some strikes from top position. Milani with a nice head shot there. Milani drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Milani jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Milani scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Severino might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Milani looking to pass the guard. Severino working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Milani. Severino pulls Milani in to control the position. Milani postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marco Milani will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Severino avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Milani tries to close the distance and clinch but Severino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Severino. Severino has a takedown stuffed. Milani is looking to clinch but Severino is avoiding it.
Milani drives through and clinches with Severino against the cage.
Milani gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Milani lands an elbow inside. Severino gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Milani escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Milani wants to stand and escape but Severino is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Milani bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Severino's guard. Milani with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Milani has gone for a leg lock! Severino slips out almost immediately though and dives into Milani's guard. Severino slips nicely into half guard. Severino thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Milani's head. Milani makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Milani. Milani bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Severino's guard. Milani passes Severino's left leg - he's now in half guard. Milani looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Severino has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Milani is working away from the top position though. Milani in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Severino tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Milani!
