The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huxtable throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steakworth takes a kick to the side of the head.
Huxtable misses with a few strikes there.
Huxtable is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Steakworth connects with a single shot there.
Huxtable moves in looking to clinch but Steakworth pushes him off.
Steakworth pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Steakworth shoots in looking for a takedown. Huxtable tries to sprawl out of it but Steakworth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Huxtable manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Huxtable feints and then cracks Steakworth's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Steakworth down.
Huxtable tries to close the distance and clinch but Steakworth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Huxtable clobbers Steakworth with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steakworth stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Huxtable.
Huxtable throws a sloppy head kick and Steakworth moves out of range easily.
Steakworth's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Steakworth duly obliges.

and Steakworth counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Steakworth fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Huxtable sprawls well initially but Steakworth persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Steakworth wants to take a breather but Huxtable is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, if Steakworth is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
I looks like Steakworth might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Steakworth is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Huxtable's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Huxtable is in all sorts of trouble here.

Steakworth changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huxtable tries to avoid it but Steakworth manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huxtable to the ground. Huxtable escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Huxtable has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Steakworth is proving hard to escape from.
Huxtable drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Steakworth dives on top into guard.

Steakworth is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
