Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pete Cherry!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from James.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

James throws some wild stikes that Cherry manages to avoid easily.

The referee warns Cherry that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


It looks like Pete Cherry has been cut.

The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cherry swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cherry throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.

James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cherry as he jumps to the side.

That has opened up Pete Cherry's cut even more.
Cherry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab.
James throws a right and a left that Cherry avoids nicely.
James doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
James slips under a jab.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Pete Cherry will probably get the nod - 10:9.

James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cherry trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cherry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard.
James makes his way to full guard. A much better position for James.
Cherry makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Cherry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.

James escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cherry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cherry manages to get himself to full guard.

Cherry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cherry shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. James is trying to defend but Cherry finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pete Cherry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cherry has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
