Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Huang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huang is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Special Agent Huang. George Huang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Huang! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Huang looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Huang defending against the ground and pound. Huang prevents Smith from moving into mount. Smith trying to control the position but Huang is working away. Huang wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Huang is looking for a sweep. Smith in side control, just content to control the action for now. Smith in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Huang is trying to buck Smith off.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Huang showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Huang throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Huang scores with a crisp jab that stopped Smith in his tracks. Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Smith takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Huang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee warns Smith that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Smith tries to improve his position but instead Huang has taken his back! Huang is trying to stick to Smith's back but Smith is turning into Huang. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Huang's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Smith. Smith with a flurry of punches that miss. Smith wants to control from the top but Huang keeps moving. Smith controls from within his opponent's guard. Smith wants to pass the guard but Huang is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Huang throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huang looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Smith trying to control the pace. Huang wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall. Smith wants to control but Huang is keeping him busy. Huang wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Huang wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it. Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Huang manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Smithis looking to pass into half guard but Huang pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Huang is in guard. Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Huang is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control. Smith looking to control.
Huang would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Huang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Huang has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted. Huang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Huang.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Huang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Huang wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Huang won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Smith lands some strikes from the bottom. Smith doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Huang changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smith fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Smith misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Smith will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Smith is looking to clinch but Huang is avoiding it.
Huang has his takedown stuffed and Smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Huang's guard now. Huang keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Huang wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it. Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work. Smith is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Huang wants to get back to his feet. Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Smith has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. John Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Huang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Huang tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Huang! Huang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Huang is looking to escape. Smith controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huang wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith with good strikes from the mount here! Smith trying to control but Huang is having none of it. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Huang is looking to improve his position but Smith isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith controlling the position easily from mount. Huang really wants to buck Smith off and get back to his feet. John Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smith looking to control and managing it successfully. Smith looking to control but Huang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Smith is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Huang can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Huang is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Smith controlling from the full mount. Smith lands a big elbow. Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. John Smith just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Huang closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Smith lands with a short head shot on the inside. Huang wants to stall.
Huang fails to pull the fight into his guard.
John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Huang. Smith stalling in the clinch but Huang improves position. Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Smith dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Huang lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Huang. A punch combination from Huang misses. A combination from Smith does no damage. Huang misses with a double jab.
Huang darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Huang throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely. Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Huang which made him look bad. Smith misses with a double jab
and Huang counters with an outside leg kick.

Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Huang was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith. Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Huang counters by clinching up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Huang drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smith gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Smith looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Smith prevents Huang from standing back up.
Huang is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Huang defending well though. Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Huang trying to control but Smith postures up.
Smith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Huang! Huang is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action. Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Huang can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Smith controlling the position easily from mount. Smith raining down shots from the mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time. Huang is trying desperately to improve position. Smith with the ground and pound from mount. Smith lands a big elbow. Smith trying to control but Huang is having none of it. John Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Huang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control! Huang goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Smith rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Huang's guard! Nice work there by Smith! Huang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Huang looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
George Huang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smith looking to pass the guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Smith. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
