Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roo Poppin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leo Chapman! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Poppin throws a hook but Chapman avoids it easily. Poppin is looking to score with low kicks. Poppin looks to land a body kick but Chapman moved away. Chapman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Poppin is trying to stand back up but Chapman is controlling him
Chapman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Chapman working over Poppin with some ground and pound. Poppin looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Chapman scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chapman looks to score some points with some ground and pound. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chapman slips a nice elbow through Poppin's hands, connecting with Poppin's forehead. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chapman connects with a nice short shot to Poppin's temple. Poppin wants to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Poppin keeps Chapman at a distance using the push kick. The crowd cheers as Poppin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Chapman doesn't seem phased though. Poppin misses with a head kick.

Poppin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chapman was well out of range. Poor timing from Poppin. Chapman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Poppin.
Poppin throws and low kick but Chapman moves out of range easily. Chapman drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chapman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chapman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Poppin wants to stand up but Chapman is controlling him.

Chapman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poppin is keeping the position for now. Chapman distracts Poppin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Chapman landing some decent shots from guard. Poppin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chapman takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Chapman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Chapman winds up and cracks Poppin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Poppin is trying to stand.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Poppin's head. Chapman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Poppin is just riding it out for now. Poppin lands with an uppercut that bounces Chapman off the cage and back into rage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leo Chapman dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Poppin. Poppin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chapman. Chapman gets a takedown into half guard. Chapman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Poppin is trying to stand.
Chapman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Poppin defends it well. Poppin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. He's got hold of a leg but Poppin swivels and escapes. Roo Poppin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Chapman. Chapman drops his hands momentarily and Poppin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Poppin throws a quick inside leg kick. Poppin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Poppin throws a head kick but Chapman moves out of range.
Chapman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Chapman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
