Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick McGowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick McGowen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jens Pulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick McGowen!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pulver stuffs the takedown attempt from McGowen. McGowen gets slowly back to his feet.
Pulver gets caught flat footed, as McGowen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
McGowen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pulver's head.
Pulver scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Pulver keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pulver tries to clinch but McGowen moves out of range.
Pulver looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGowen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pulver is controlling him.
Pulver throwing strikes but missing.
Pulver got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGowen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pulver has managed to get both his arms back between McGowen's legs - danger averted.
Pulver chips away with some ground and pound.

Pulver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGowen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McGowen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pulver gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pulver working some strikes from top position.
McGowen trying to keep a closed guard but Pulver is proving a slippery customer.
Pulver connects with a couple of short punches.
McGowen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pulver defends it easily.
McGowen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McGowen looks gassed!
Pulver prevents McGowen from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGowen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pulver defends well.
McGowen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pulver defends it easily.
Pulver working some strikes from top position.
McGowen working for a triangle but Pulver defends it easily.
Pulver trying to stand up but can't free himself from McGowen's guard.

McGowen wants to stand up but Pulver is controlling him.
Pulver lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGowen pushes Pulver off and scrambles back to his feet.
McGowen misses with a takedown
and Pulver counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jens Pulver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick McGowen.
McGowen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pulver's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pulver's back!
McGowen is hanging on to Pulver's back as he tries to escape.

McGowen has good solid back control here.

McGowen is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Pulver has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but McGowen has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Pulver taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. McGowen doesn't care though - he's delighted!
