Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Bruzzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorje Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slayer has chosen Otep - Battle Ready as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Bruzzi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorje Slayer! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slayer avoids the body shot from Bruzzi.
Bruzzi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Slayer backs up against the cage.
Slayer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bruzzi sprawls well. Bruzzi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slayer gets slowly back to his feet. Bruzzi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bruzzi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Slayer in his tracks. Nice takedown defense from Bruzzi. No joy for Slayer on that attempt. Slayer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Slayer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Slayer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruzzi tries to get to full guard but Slayer has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slayer is looking to advance position but Bruzzi won't allow it. Bruzzi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Slayer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Slayer's back! Slayer has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bruzzi. Bruzzi is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Bruzzi has the hooks in. Slayer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Slayer takes a big shot to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bruzzi struggling to keep hold of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruzzi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Slayer wants to work for an arm triangle but Bruzzi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bruzzi manages to escape and get back to his feet! Bruzzi's corner calls for a 1-2. Bruzzi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Bruzzi scores with a shot to the body.

Felipe Bruzzi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bruzzi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bruzzi. Bruzzi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Slayer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slayer lands in his opponent's guard. Slayer stands and throws Bruzzi's legs to the side, diving into side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bruzzi is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slayer shoots in but no luck this time. Slayer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bruzzi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bruzzi with a nice cross. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bruzzi!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slayer advances position into side control! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bruzzi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruzzi tries to roll over but Slayer keeps him under control. Bruzzi looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Slayer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bruzzi pushes Slayer off and gets back to his feet.

Nope, Bruzzi circles away and we're back to standing. Bruzzi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Slayer shoots in for a double leg but Bruzzi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Slayer has a takedown stuffed. Bruzzi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Bruzzi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Slayer. Bruzzi throws a combination. Slayer tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slayer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bruzzi but Bruzzi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Slayer dives in and grabs Bruzzi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bruzzi pushes down on Slayer's head and hops out. Bruzzi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jorje Slayer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bruzzi stuffs the takedown. Bruzzi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The crowd cheers as Bruzzi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Slayer doesn't seem phased though. Bruzzi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slayer. Bruzzi throws a right and a left that both miss. Bruzzi takes a swing at Slayer's ribcage but misses. Bruzzi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. That's four minutes gone in the round. Slayer misses with a takedown attempt - Bruzzi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bruzzi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Horrible takedown by Slayer or perhaps it was just good defense by Bruzzi which made him look bad. Slayer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slayer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bruzzi is just riding it out for now. Slayer eventually gives up the hold. Bruzzi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Slayer scores with a couple of nice shots. Bruzzi tries to roll over but Slayer keeps him under control. Bruzzi is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Slayer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
