Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slade Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Milano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Milano has chosen AC/DC - If You Want Blood as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Slade Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincenzo Milano!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Milano circles away quickly and effectively.
Milano tries to clinch up.
A combination from Steel does no damage.
Steel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Milano is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Steel's half guard.
Milano wants to take a breather but Steel is having none of it.
Steel is looking for a sweep. Milano is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Milano is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

No joy there for Steel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Steel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Milano's head backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Milano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Steel throws a shot from downtown. Milano moves away and avoids it.
Slade Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Steel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Milano sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Steel swings for the body but Milano moves out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Milano checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Milano shoots in but Steel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Milano tries for a takedown but Steel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Steel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Steel.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A jab lands there for Steel.
Milano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Milano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Milano checks a leg kick.
Steel throws a chopping leg kick but Milano manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

and Milano counters with a two punch combo.

and Milano holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Milano tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Milano keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Steel's efforts to push away.
Milano has Steel pressed against the cage, preventing Steel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Steel breaks the clinch.
Milano dives in and grabs Steel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steel pushes down on Milano's head and hops out.
Steel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Milano was well out of range. Poor timing from Steel.
Steel thows a leg kick but Milano checks it
and Milano makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Steel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Steel misses the jab.
Milano closes the distance and clinches up with Steel, looking for a takedown. Milano pushes Steel against the cage but Steel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Steel throws a looping overhand right but Milano ducks down to avoid it.

Steel lands a left and a right that send Milano crashing to the mat, dazed. Steel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Milano is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him?

Steel misses with a double jab

and Milano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steel's guard.
Milano seems to have recovered his senses.
Milano trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Steel is adopting a defensive guard.
Milano looking to sit in guard and control but Steel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Steel's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Milano throws his legs up looking for a submission but Steel uses it to pass to side control.
Milano looks to move to half guard but instead Steel has passed into mount! Damn!
Milano is looking to improve his position but Steel isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slade Steel dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Steel misses with a hook.
Slade Steel is winning the standup battle so far.
Milano shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Milano throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steel's waist but Steel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Milano off to one side.
Milano shoots for a double leg takedown but Steel sprawls well. He's pushed Milano's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Steel keeping moving, preventing Milano from controlling successfully.
Milano passes Steel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Steel wants to control but Milano is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Milano is looking to stall here but Steel recovers full guard.

Steel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Milano advances position into side control!
Milano cracks Steel with a big right hand but Steel just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Milano is looking to take a break and control but Steel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Steel takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steel is looking to regain half guard here but Milano keeps moving and retains side control.
Steel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steel tries to get out of the position.
Steel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Milano off and has taken his back!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Steel is trying to stick to Milano's back but Milano is turning into Steel. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Steel's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Milano.
Steel seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Milano pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Steel is keeping the position for now.
Steel looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vincenzo Milano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Slade Steel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I think Steel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
