The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Edgar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Edgar from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Edgar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now.

Smith throws a series of punches but Edgar moves out of range.

and Smith counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Edgar had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Smith fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Edgar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Oh Edgar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edgar loses concentration momentarily and Smith pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Edgar crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Smith finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
