Black shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Downs defends it nicely.
Black missing with a left hand there. Downs was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Black thows a left - swing and a miss!
Downs ducks under a wild hook from Black.
Downs has Black up against the ropes in a clinch.
Black has a couple of punches blocked by Downs.
Downs blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Black looks gassed!
Downs breaks from the clinch.
Downs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Downs showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Black.
Black gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A right hook to the body lands for Downs.
Downs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Black has his takedown stuffed
so Downs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Black wants to stand up but Downs is controlling him.
Downs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Black's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Downs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Downs passes Black's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Downs has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Black defend it? Downs steps over the head and cranks it - Black is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Downs!
