The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lawal.
vonHammer can't do much from the bottom here.
vonHammer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lawal has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lawal controls the position.
vonHammer is trying to work for a sweep but Lawal has mounted him!
Lawal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lawal connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Lawal jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… vonHammer is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by vonHammer and Lawal has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lawal has knee on belly momentarily but vonHammer bucks him off and regains half guard.

Lawal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming vonHammer to the mat! vonHammer manages to get full guard.
Lawal postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
vonHammer wants to sweep here but Lawal controlling him for the moment.
Lawal throws and elbow that misses. vonHammer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lawal's guard. Nice move by vonHammer!
