PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy McCartny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juno Mcguff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McCartny might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get Money. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcguff decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McCartny has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcguff is working away from the top position though.
It looks like Mcguff is going to stand back up.
McCartny wants to control but Mcguff is keeping busy.
Mcguff is trying to control. McCartny wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mcguff is thwarting McCartny's attempts to control the position.
McCartny wants to get back to full guard.
Mcguff trying to control the action but McCartny is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCartny looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McCartny is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McCartny tries for a takedown but Mcguff circles away easily

and Mcguff counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mcguff.

Mcguff seems to be looking for submissions.
McCartny is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCartny wants to control but Mcguff is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mcguff moves nicely into side control.

Mcguff is trying to get an arm triangle but McCartny is defending well.

Mcguff decides to stand back up. Mcguff steps back and let's McCartny get back to his feet.

McCartny lands a head kick. Mcguff smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Mcguff closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcguff lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcguff got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCartny has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcguff has managed to get both his arms back between McCartny's legs - danger averted.
McCartny is breathing heavily.
Mcguff passes into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mcguff is keen to just control but McCartny is a slippery customer.

Mcguff looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mcguff wants to free his trapped foot but McCartny is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Mcguff is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McCartny stops Mcguff from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Mcguff misses with a head shot.

Mcguff is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Mcguff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mcguff is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCartny defends it well.
McCartny has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcguff is working away from the top position though.

McCartny doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Mcguff counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mcguff pushes down on McCartny's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Mcguff stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McCartny to get to his feet.

Mcguff bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCartny can't do much from the bottom here.

Juno Mcguff has got the better of the ground game so far.
McCartny looking for a sweep but Mcguff has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McCartny is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcguff has a good base and remains in mount.

Mcguff swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
