Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Webb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Chambers! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chambers scores with a takedown into Webb's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chambers landing some decent shots from guard. Chambers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Webb swivels though and keeps the full guard. Webb wants to get back to his feet but Chambers is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Chambers is in close to Webb's body, working some short punches and elbows. Chambers trying to control the position from guard on top but Webb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chambers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Webb will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Chambers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Webb is keeping the position for now. Chambers is looking to work some ground and pound but Webb has wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Webb gets caught flat footed, as Chambers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Chambers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Webb pushes Chambers off and gets back to his feet.
Chambers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Webb's half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webb is staying active underneath Chambers, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Chambers trying to pass the guard but Webb defending well. Webb manages to escape and get back to his feet! No luck with that takedown attempt from Chambers. John Chambers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chambers closes the distance and clinches up with Webb, looking for a takedown. Chambers pushes Webb against the cage but Webb circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chambers looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webb fails with the takedown. Webb gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Chambers counters with a nice double leg into guard. Chambers thows a big elbow that misses. Chambers wants to control from the top but Webb keeps moving. Webb wants to stand but Chambers is controlling the position. Chambers looking to sit in guard and control but Webb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Webb lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chambers wants to stand up but Webb is controlling him. Webb keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chambers's head. Webb not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Chambers keeping full guard, as Webb tries to pass. Webb darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Chambers has one foot on Webb's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Chambers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Webb wants to get back to his feet.
Chambers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Webb does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Chambers thows a huge punch but Webb dodges it nicely.
Chambers is breathing heavily. Webb is trying to stand up here but Chambers is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Chambers fails with the takedown and Webb counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webb lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Webb chips away with some ground and pound. Webb has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Webb stands up over Chambers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Webb accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Webb trying to control but Chambers is working from the bottom. Chambers wants to stand up but Webb is controlling him. Webb scores with a decent looking elbow strike. John Chambers has got the better of the ground game so far. Chambers keeping moving, preventing Webb from controlling successfully. Chambers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Webb is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Webb. Chambers is not content to let Webb control the position. Chambers should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Webb in side control lands a decent elbow. Webb trying to control the action but Chambers is working from the bottom. Chambers is pushing Webb's head away, looking to escape. Webb manages to hold on to the position though. Webb connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chambers some visible discomfort.
Webb grinds an elbow into Chambers's temple. Webb taking a breather here. Chambers is trying to get back to his feet. Webb wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chambers keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chambers is looking to advance position but Webb has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Chambers tries to buck Webb off but he can't manage it. Webb is in the full mount, landing strikes. The referee warns Chambers that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Webb postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chambers looks a forlorn figure.

Chambers takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Webb controlling from mount. Chambers is trying to stand up.
And that's the end of the fight! Mario Webb showed his dominance in that final round. Well Webb has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
