The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Vasquel misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vasquel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

Roy Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Automatic Vasquel.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Vasquel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones wants to stand and escape but Vasquel is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Vasquel avoids a punch combination nicely.

Vasquel trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones wants to stand but Vasquel is controlling the position.

Jones is looking to stand but Jones has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Jones really wants to buck Vasquel off and get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones is not content to let Vasquel control the position.

Automatic Vasquel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
