Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zero might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to José the Bronx Rican - Spittin' Narcicism. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero tried to score with a low kick but Howell checks it.
Howell has Zero up against the cage in a clinch.
Zero gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Zero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zero wants to control from the top but Howell keeps moving.
Zero is pushing down on Howell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Howell is fighting to maintain full guard but Zero has managed to sneak the leg through.
Howell trying to hold on to Zero's head to control him but Zero postures up.
Zero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Howell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Zero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Howell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zero.
Howell works his way to full guard. Good work.
Zero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Howell is proving hard to escape from.
Zero throws a big right hand that misses.
Zero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zero showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Howell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Howell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zero manages to get himself to full guard.

Zero is looking for a triangle but Howell pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howell finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Zero shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Howell but Howell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Howell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zero tries to score a power double leg takedown but Howell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zero somewhat.
Howell cracks the inside of Zero's front leg.
Zero shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Howell throws out a powerful jab.
Zero shoots in for a double leg but Howell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Howell moves into the clinch.

Danga de danga de dang - Howell scores with a four punch combination!
Howell is looking to clinch but Zero is avoiding it.
Zero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Howell tries to avoid it but Zero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Howell to the ground. Howell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Howell, right into the meat.
Zero moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Zero tries to move into range but Howell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Max Zero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Howell scores with a leg kick.
Zero has his takedown stuffed
and Howell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Howell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Zero regains guard immediately.
Howell gets to his feet. Zero looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Howell works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and Howell counters with a one-two to the body.
Howell bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Zero's head backwards.
Howell misses with the combination.
Howell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zero misses with a takedown attempt
and Howell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zero has his takedown stuffed
and Howell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zero fails with the takedown
and Howell counters with a good, hard body kick but Zero shrugs it off.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Howell lands a head kick. Zero smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Howell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Howell darts in and clinches Zero up against the cage.
Howell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zero is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Howell manages to pull guard.
Zero drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Howell dives on top into guard.
Howell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zero's guard.
Howell controlling the action here.
Howell uses his free foot to push down on Zero's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zero.

Howell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Howell prevents Zero from getting the reversal.
Zero takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Howell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zero wants to control but Howell is having none of it.

Josh Howell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Howell looks to land a combination. Zero sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Howell fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A jab from Howell finds it's way through Zero's defenses.
Zero has closed the distance and engaged Howell in a clinch.
Howell jumps into guard, dragging Zero to the mat.
Zero being controlled here momentarily.
Zero wants to control from the top but Howell keeps moving.

Howell is looking to stand up but Zero isn't so interested in that idea.
Zero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Howell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Zero throws and elbow that misses. Howell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zero's guard. Nice move by Howell!
Howell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Howell has managed to get both his arms back between Zero's legs - danger averted.

Well Howell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
