Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mattiu HowGSPSaysIt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Rothstein!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

HowGSPSaysIt gets the takedown into side control.
HowGSPSaysIt tries to move to full mount but Rothstein actually manages to regain half guard.

HowGSPSaysIt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rothstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
HowGSPSaysIt stays in close to Rothstein's body and controls the position.
HowGSPSaysIt wants to pass the guard but Rothstein is keeping the position.
HowGSPSaysIt wants to control from the top but Rothstein keeps moving.
Rothstein is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst HowGSPSaysIt is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

HowGSPSaysIt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rothstein sprawls well initially but HowGSPSaysIt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rothstein changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. HowGSPSaysIt tries to avoid it but Rothstein manages to keep hold of a leg and drag HowGSPSaysIt to the ground. HowGSPSaysIt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
HowGSPSaysIt drops his hands momentarily and Rothstein takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rothstein turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Rothstein throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around HowGSPSaysIt's waist but HowGSPSaysIt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rothstein off to one side.
Rothstein fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt HowGSPSaysIt.

Rothstein shoots in looking for a takedown. HowGSPSaysIt tries to sprawl out of it but Rothstein keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. HowGSPSaysIt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rothstein looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rothstein lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
