Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curt Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Guida! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curt Goldberg! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guida fails with a takedown attempt. Guida looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goldberg is fending him off so far but Guida persists. Nope, Goldberg circles away and we're back to standing. Guida will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Guida. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goldberg uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Guida drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Guida prevents Goldberg from escaping the position. Guida is trying to get an arm triangle but Goldberg is defending well. Goldberg wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Guida tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Guida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guida tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goldberg sneaks out the side door and pushes Guida away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Guida shoots in for a takedown but Goldberg shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Guida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goldberg but Goldberg pushes him off and we're back to square one. Guida is breathing heavily. Goldberg shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guida manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Goldberg landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goldberg with a flurry of punches that miss. Guida is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Goldberg defends well. Guida can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Goldberg controls the pace.

Goldberg frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Goldberg scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Goldberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guida in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Goldberg looking to control and managing it successfully. Guida really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Goldberg lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Goldberg lands a heavy elbow. Guida is looking to improve his position but Goldberg isn't that keen on the idea. Guida wants to hold on but Goldberg pushes him away. Guida is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Goldberg is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
