Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Viko Maafala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Allan Krech!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maafala tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krech paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Krech shoots in for a double leg but Maafala sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Krech swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Maafala scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Krech pushes Maafala away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maafala gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Krech is letting Maafala control him for a moment.
Maafala wants to lay and pray for a moment but Krech keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Krech can do anything to dispel that myth.
Krech takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maafala is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Krech will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Maafala scoring with punches and elbows.
Maafala cracks Krech with a big right hand but Krech just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Maafala is staying tight to Krech's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Krech really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maafala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maafala has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Krech is looking for a sweep.
Krech sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krech is not content to let Maafala control the position.

Maafala is looking for a kimura here.
Krech wants to get back to his feet.
Krech wants to get back to full guard.
Maafala sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maafala connects with a nice short shot to Krech's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Still in half guard, Maafala seems content to control.
Maafala moves nicely into side control.
Maafala has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Krech!
Krech tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Maafala has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Krech's face.
Krech is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Krech looks gassed!
Krech wants to hold on but Maafala pushes him away.
Maafala lands a big shot there that rocks Krech but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Maafala controlling his opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Maafala trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Maafala looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Maafala connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Krech is rocked!
Krech prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Krech is still in real trouble! Can Maafala finish him?
