Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen Freude schöner Götter Funken as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dylan James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Martin! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one. Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. James lands with a nice body punch. Martin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martin but Martin pushes him off and we're back to square one. James lands a slapping body shot.
Martin looks gassed! James darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. James wants to control but Martin is keeping him busy. Martin won't allow James to pass to mount. James is controlling the pace.

James wants to free his trapped foot but Martin is holding on for dear life with his legs. James is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. James content to control rather than advance. Martin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to Martin's temple. James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. James wants to free his trapped foot but Martin is holding on for dear life with his legs. Martin is looking to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martin can do anything to dispel that myth. James controlling the action here. James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working. James tries to stand but his arm is trapped. James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin trying to hold on to James's head to control him but James postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Martin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. James manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Martin prevents James from getting back to his feet. Martin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! James is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! James has escaped and now he's on top! James wants to stand but Martin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. James thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Martin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Martin's legs - danger averted. Martin keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James trying to stand up but can't free himself from Martin's guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Martin tries for a takedown but James circles away easily and James counters with a single leg into guard. Martin didn't expect that. Dylan James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Martin. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Martin working for a triangle but James defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan James dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
James feints and as Martin raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Martin is looking for a triangle but James pushes his legs off easily.
James slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. James looking to pass the guard. James trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom. Martin is breathing heavily. James is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. James connects with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Martin tries to improve position but can't. James tries to stand but Martin is controlling his head. James lands a nice forearm strike. Martin is trying to improve his position. James trying to control the action but Martin is working from the bottom. James cracks Martin with a big elbow.

Martin throws a lazy right hand but James sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. James fails with a takedown attempt. James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Martin scores with a one two! James had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Martin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and James counters with a big head kick but Martin shrugs it off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Martin throws a body punch but James moves out of range. James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martin tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martin to the ground. Martin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan James. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from James.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin thumps James with a low kick. James shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. James tries to move into range but Martin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Dylan James has been cut. Martin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Martin is working for a kimura but James is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. James pushes Martin off and gets back to his feet. Martin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Martin wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. Martin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard. James stands and throws Martin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James lands a decent elbow from side control. James scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Martin to see if he's OK. Martin tries to get back to half guard but can't. James decides to take the fight back to the feet. James shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Martin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and James counters with a head kick. Dylan James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Martin tries to clinch but James is having none of it. James doesn't succeed with the takedown and Martin counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well. Martin tries to advance to mount but James denies him. James is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Martin off and has taken his back! James controlling from the back. Peter Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Martin covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Martin staying busy and making it hard for James to control. James loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Martin hold on?
James controlling the position well here. Martin rolled but James kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well James has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
