Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Back Yard Brawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katana comes to the cage accompanied by Baby got back. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Katana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Back Yard Brawler! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brawler takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Katana throws a hook to the side of Brawler's head but Brawler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Brawler moves in looking to clinch but Katana pushes him off. Brawler tries to clinch up but Katana circles away and keeps his distance. A head kick misses from Brawler. Brawler throws a head kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Katana scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Katana looks to land a right hand but Brawler moved out of range. Katana scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Katana finds it's way through Brawler's defenses. Brawler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Katana. Katana pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Brawler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Katana takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like James Katana has been cut. Katana circles away from the clinch attempt.
Katana throws a hook but Brawler blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katana keeps the fight on the outside. Back Yard Brawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brawler clinches up with Katana and pushes him back against the cage. Brawler tries to stall but Katana uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Katana has had enough of the clinch but Brawler keeps him there for the moment. Brawler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Katana's elbow. Katana is trying to break the clinch but Brawler is controlling him. Brawler drops down looking for an ankle pick but Katana pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brawler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Katana paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brawler tries to clinch up but Katana circles away and keeps his distance. Brawler gets a clinch. Brawler tries to break free but Katana pushes him back against the cage. Brawler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Brawler tries to clinch up but Katana circles away and keeps his distance. Brawler moves away from the strike by Katana. Katana circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Brawler fails in his attempt to clinch. Katana dips to his left and cracks Brawler with an uppercut! Brawler tries to clinch up. Brawler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Brawler fails with an attempt to clinch.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brawler doesn't manage to clinch there - Katana circles away.
Katana throws a lazy right hand but Brawler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Back Yard Brawler dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Katana's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Katana keeps the fight on the outside. A swing and a miss from Katana. Katana looks to land a left hand but Brawler moved out of range nicely. Brawler tries to close the distance and clinch but Katana swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brawler throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Katana's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brawler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Katana swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brawler doesn't manage to clinch there - Katana circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brawler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Katana is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Brawler wants to clinch up but Katana keeps it at a distance. Brawler wants to clinch. Brawler is looking to clinch but Katana is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Katana loads up on a big right hand but Brawler slips the punch. Brawler throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Brawler darts in trying to clinch and Katana counters with a nice uppercut. Katana throws a hook but Brawler avoids it easily. The fighters circling - Brawler throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Brawler. Brawler wants to clinch but Katana slips to the side enabling Katana to counter with a crisp jab. Brawler closes the distance looking to clinch and Katana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Katana throws a head kick but Brawler moves out of range.
Brawler closes the distance but Katana moves to the side and Katana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brawler tries to clinch letting Katana counter with a right hand. Brawler keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Katana. Brawler tries to clinch but Katana moves away and Katana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Brawler tries a head kick but it misses.
