Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Sokoudjou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Schmidt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Sokoudjou! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Schmidt! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmidt misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sokoudjou throws a leg kick but Schmidt sees it coming and moves out of range. Schmidt throws a combination. Sokoudjou tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Rashad Sokoudjou has been cut. Schmidt lands a jab. Sokoudjou misses with a wild body shot. Schmidt misses the shot to the body. Sokoudjou is looking to chop away at Schmidt's legs. Schmidt wants to clinch. Sokoudjou circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sokoudjou uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schmidt. Sokoudjou slips a jab and a cross from Schmidt.
Schmidt wants to clinch. Adam Schmidt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schmidt throws a series of punches but Sokoudjou moves out of range. A shot to de liver by Sokoudjou. Beautiful body shot. Sokoudjou thuds a left hand into Schmidt's body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A looping hook to the body misses from Sokoudjou. Schmidt does a little dance to reset his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sokoudjou.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sokoudjou scores with punches from side control. Schmidt is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sokoudjou off and has taken his back! Sokoudjou tries to escape but Schmidt has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Schmidt thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Schmidt controlling well, preventing Sokoudjou from escaping the position.
Sokoudjou wants to control his opponent's hands but Schmidt gets his hands free. Schmidt looking for the choke from the back. Schmidt doesn't have the hooks in and Sokoudjou manages to turn into his guard.
Schmidt tries to strike from the bottom.
Schmidt is looking to stand back up but Sokoudjou counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Schmidt. Schmidt tries to get to full guard but Sokoudjou has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sokoudjou working Schmidt over with strikes. Sokoudjou working Schmidt over with strikes. Sokoudjou moves nicely into side control. Sokoudjou throws an elbow but Schmidt slips to the side and avoids it well. Sokoudjou is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schmidt knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Sokoudjou cracks Schmidt with a big right hand but Schmidt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Schmidt is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sokoudjou's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Sokoudjou! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Schmidt has tapped! This one is allllll over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Rashad Sokoudjou!
