Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, American Spirit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Tupolev! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spirit swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Spirit checks a leg kick nicely. Tupolev lands a jab to the nose. Tupolev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Tupolev throwing strikes but missing. Tupolev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tupolev works over Spirit with some ground and pound from guard. Tupolev looking to pass the guard. Tupolev chips away with some ground and pound. Tupolev lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Spirit on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spirit tries to get out of the position. Tupolev with a nice head shot there. Spirit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tupolev throws a strike but Spirit rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Spirit would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tupolev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Spirit throwing strikes from guard but Tupolev blocks nicely. Spirit with a flurry of punches that miss. Tupolev working a defensive guard here.
Tupolev throwing short punches from the bottom. Spirit wants to stand but Tupolev is controlling his posture from full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tupolev throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Spirit drops Tupolev with a beautiful combination! Tupolev stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spirit is looking for the KO!
It looks like Andrei Tupolev has been cut. Spirit throws a head kick that misses. Spirit wants to clinch up but Tupolev keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spirit throws a right hand that Tupolev ducks under and follows up with a left that Tupolev also avoids with ease. Spirit drops Tupolev with a beautiful combination! Tupolev stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spirit is looking for the KO!
Tupolev is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Tupolev circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Spirit. Tupolev falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Spirit!
