Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Mould (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Hyland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JJ Hyland is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Mould! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, JJ Hyland! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Hyland is trying to break free. Mould will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hyland up against the ropes. Hyland tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mould just stands there and leans against the ropes. Hyland tries to pull guard but Mould holds him up against the ropes and eventually Hyland drops back down to his feet.

Mould is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hyland tries to break free but Mould pushes him back against the ropes. Mould tries for a takedown but Hyland manages to get underhooks.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Mould. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hyland has had enough of the clinch but Mould keeps him there for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A frustrated look appears on Hyland's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mould breaks the clinch.
Mould walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hyland tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mould swivels and escapes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mould. Hyland sneaks back into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hyland is trying to get back to full guard. Mould is keen to just control but Hyland is a slippery customer. Hyland is looking to improve his position.
Hyland is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mould missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mould is trying to control the action in half guard but Hyland is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mould shoots in for a takedown but Hyland shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hyland blocks a head kick by Mould.

It looks like Dave Mould has been cut. Mould is breathing heavily. Hyland fails with a takedown attempt. Hyland tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mould swivels and escapes. Hyland shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mould counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three minutes gone in the round. Hyland is wriggling around but Mould manages to pass to half guard.
Hyland has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mould is working away from the top position though. Mould stalling away here and it's allowed Hyland to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Hyland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mould moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hyland throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mould works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hyland postures up.
Hyland trying to control the position from guard on top but Mould is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mould looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hyland has picked Mould up and slammed him! Mould can't keep hold of the triangle and Hyland manages to pass to side control! An elbow from Hyland crashes against the mat.
Hyland trying to control the position but Mould is working away. Hyland sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mould is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dave Mould will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dave Mould's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hyland connects with the punch. Hyland misses with a takedown attempt so Mould counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mould won't allow Hyland to get back to his feet. Mould is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mould trying to control the position from guard on top but Hyland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hyland wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hyland controls Mould momentarily but Mould frees himself. Hyland is looking to stand up but Mould isn't so interested in that idea. Hyland working a defensive guard here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mould shoots in looking for a takedown. Hyland tries to sprawl out of it but Mould keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Hyland manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hyland connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mould momentarily.
JJ Hyland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hyland avoids the head kick by Mould.
Hyland tries to bum rush Mould with a series of wild strikes but Mould uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hyland shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mould counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hyland is trying to break free.

Mould gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hyland holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Hyland punching from the bottom.
Mould wants to stand but Hyland has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Mould wants to pass to mount but Hyland is defending the position. Hyland trying to control but Mould postures up.
Hyland wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mould wants to take a breather but Hyland is having none of it. Hyland makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hyland. Hyland wants to get back to his feet but Mould is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mould has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mould drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hyland scores with a jab to the body. Hyland lands with a nice combination. Mould backs away looking to recover. Hyland connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hyland rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mould moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mould with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hyland to score with a decent uppercut. Hyland will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dave Mould has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ Hyland. Hyland throws a combination. Mould tries to block but a couple of punches get through. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hyland lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hyland fails with a takedown attempt. Hyland has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hyland fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hyland misses with a takedown attempt - Mould sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mould shoots for a double leg takedown but Hyland sprawls well. He's pushed Mould's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hyland lands with a nice combination. Mould backs away looking to recover. Hyland scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Hyland showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mould.
Hyland misses with a takedown and Mould counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mould tries to pull guard but Hyland holds him up against the ropes and eventually Mould drops back down to his feet.

Horrible takedown by Hyland or perhaps it was just good defense by Mould which made him look bad. Hyland missing with a left hand there. Mould was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Mould looks to land a left hand but Hyland moved out of range nicely. Hyland connects with a right hand. Mould shakes it off. Mould looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mould closes the distance and pushes Hyland back into the ropes. Hyland managing to block the knees to the body from Mould.

Hyland is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hyland jumps guard but Mould stands there with Hyland around his waist. Hyland gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nice straight punches there by Hyland. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hyland.
Mould is rocked! Hyland tries for a takedown but Mould circles away easily and Mould counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hyland! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mould looking to control but Hyland is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mould is really struggling to control Hyland but he's trying to hold on to the position. Hyland wants to hold on but Mould pushes him away. Mould wants to control the pace but Hyland is squirming around nicely. Mould is trying to control here but Hyland has managed to regain half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A right-left combo lands from Hyland. Hyland connects with a body shot. Hyland will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hyland lands with an uppercut that bounces Mould off the ropes and back into rage. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hyland is defended easily by Mould. Hyland lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hyland. Hyland throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mould. Mould scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mould thows a huge punch but Hyland dodges it nicely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fighters are battling for position here. Hyland manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Mould wants to control from the top but Hyland keeps moving. Hyland is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mould wants to pass the guard but Hyland is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hyland is trying to keep Mould in close.
And that's the end of the fight! JJ Hyland comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hyland has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
