Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes into the arena with "Killing In the Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Savage circles away from the clinch attempt.
Savage is looking to clinch. Savage tries to clinch and Alvarez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Savage scores with a takedown into Alvarez's guard. Alvarez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alvarez wants to get back to his feet but Savage is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alvarez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Savage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Alvarez looking for a sweep. Not yet Alvarez, not yet. Savage trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Savage stands up from Alvarez's guard - Savage perhaps looking for a knockout. Savage misses with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez misses with a double jab.
Savage gets a takedown into half guard. Savage is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Savage is breathing heavily. Savage controlling from mount. Alvarez wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Alvarez can't escape the position.

Alvarez throwing punches from his back. He's mounted here but still fighting back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez working to try and regain half guard.
You get the feeling that Alvarez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Savage controlling the position easily from mount. Savage is working for a guillotine from mount but Alvarez frees his head quite easily.
Alvarez is looking to get to half guard. Savage content just to control the position here. Savage lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Savage decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Savage looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Savage slips a nice elbow through Alvarez's hands, connecting with Alvarez's forehead. Savage is controlling the pace.
Savage passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alvarez! Savage tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Savage is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savage throws a head kick but Alvarez moves out of range.
Savage gets the takedown into side control. Alvarez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Savage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Savage has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Alvarez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Savage yanks on the arm and Alvarez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Savage.
