Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Kronic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaid comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Douglas Quaid! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Kronic! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kronic swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kronic misses with an attempted mid kick.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Quaid. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quaid misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kronic wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Kronic prevents Quaid from improving position. Kronic is pushing Quaid's head away, looking to escape. Quaid manages to hold on to the position though. Kronic is trying to escape the position but Quaid is controlling the position. Quaid has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kronic is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quaid in side control, throwing shots but Kronic defends.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Quaid connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kronic's hands.
It looks like Nate Kronic has been cut. Quaid looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Quaid makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Quaid slips nicely into half guard. Quaid perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kronic pushes Quaid off looking to stand but Quaid dives back in and keeps control.
Kronic has one foot on Quaid's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quaid goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Kronic is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Quaid lands with a cross.
Kronic is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Kronic wants to clinch up but Quaid keeps it at a distance. Quaid scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kronic looks gassed! Kronic is trying to stand.
Still in half guard, Quaid seems content to control. Kronic is staying active underneath Quaid, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Quaid trying to pass the guard but Kronic defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quaid scoring with strikes to the body and head. Quaid wants to take a breather but Kronic is having none of it. Quaid perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Quaid passes to full mount! Quaid can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kronic is looking to escape. Kronic tries to buck Quaid off but he can't manage it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Quaid takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Quaid lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
A nice elbow there by Quaid. Kronic is bucking up trying to escape but Quaid cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kronic is still in real trouble! Can Quaid finish him? Poor strikes thrown by Quaid there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Kronic seems to have recovered his senses. Kronic is trying to stand up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Quaid trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Douglas Quaid dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nate Kronic's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Quaid lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Quaid closes the distance and clinches. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Quaid as Kronic tries to tie him up. Kronic misses with some punches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Quaid. A short right from Quaid on the inside. Quaid tries to score a body lock takedown but Kronic shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Quaid lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Quaid lands with a short shot to the head. Quaid lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Quaid lands with a right to the head. Quaid lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kronic is trying to break free. Kronic looking to slow down the pace here. Quaid lands a body punch in the clinch. Quaid pushes Kronic back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A short right from Quaid on the inside. A shot in the inside from Quaid.
That has opened up Nate Kronic's cut even more. Quaid softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Kronic is breathing heavily. Quaid lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quaid lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kronic is not content to let Quaid control the position. Quaid content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Quaid passes to full mount! Quaid working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kronic in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Kronic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quaid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Quaid working the ground and pound effectively.
Quaid tries to control but Kronic wriggling away. Kronic squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Quaid raining down shots from the mount! Quaid looking for a guillotine from mount but Kronic is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kronic blocking the ground and pound. Kronic wants to get back to his feet.
Quaid controlling the pace for now. Quaid is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Quaid working away from the top, dropping strikes. Quaid punishing his opponent with strikes.
The cut above Nate Kronic's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nate Kronic's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Douglas Quaid! Douglas Quaid retains his featherweight title!
