Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zach Parise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilles StPaul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). StPaul has chosen Kashmir as his entrance music. Gilles StPaul will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Parise! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gilles StPaul! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parise scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. StPaul slips under a jab from Parise. A shot to the body from StPaul misses and Parise counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps StPaul thinking. Parise ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Parise takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

StPaul throws a big shot that misses. Parise throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A slow jab from StPaul misses its intended target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parise misses the jab. Zach Parise is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Parise clinches up with StPaul and pushes him back against the cage. StPaul gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Zach Parise has been cut. StPaul pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. StPaul throws an elbow but it misses.

It looks like Gilles StPaul has been cut. Parise lands with a light punch inside. StPaul misses with an elbow over the top. Parise breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Parise scores with a hook to the body. StPaul takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A jab from Parise misses. StPaul tries to clinch up and Parise counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parise closes the distance looking to clinch and StPaul counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. StPaul misses with a takedown attempt and Parise counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. StPaul avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
StPaul fails with the takedown and Parise holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Parise managing to block the knees to the body from StPaul.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parise avoids a wild elbow strike from StPaul. Parise effectively controlling the action here. Parise blocks the elbow strike.

Parise gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Good anti-grappling being displayed by StPaul as Parise tries to tie him up. StPaul missing with knees to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Parise lands with a right to the head. StPaul misses with a knee strike.
StPaul wants to stall.
Parise is trying to maintain a safe position but StPaul gets an underhook and turns Parise into the cage. Parise lands with a short head shot on the inside. Parise wants to stall.

StPaul using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Parise has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
StPaul looks gassed! A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. StPaul misses with an elbow strike.
Parise pressing his opponent against the cage. Parise lands with a left to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right from Parise. StPaul wants to stall.
A short uppercut from Parise. StPaul lands a damaging elbow. StPaul throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Parise blocks it with crossed arms. Parise softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Parise breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
StPaul takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Parise tries to close the distance and clinch but StPaul swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Parise displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from StPaul. Zach Parise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gilles StPaul. Parise cracks StPaul with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Parise stuns StPaul with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zach Parise dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Parise uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Parise connects with a looping right hand.
StPaul takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A big left from Parise misses. StPaul wants to clinch but Parise slips to the side and Parise counters by clinching up. Parise blocks an elbow strike. Parise scores with an uppercut up the middle. Parise lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of StPaul backwards. A battle for position here, against the cage. StPaul creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Parise's defenses. Parise taking a breather. StPaul misses with a knee strike.
StPaul pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. StPaul pushes off an throws an elbow but Parise leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Parise's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Parise connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parise bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of StPaul's head.
StPaul is rocked! Parise rushes StPaul with punches - StPaul moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, StPaul goes down! Parise follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zach Parise! Zach Parise retains his welterweight title!
