Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conner Magavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathas Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holliday has chosen You'r Going Down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conner Magavin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathas Holliday! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magavin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Holliday is trying to defend but Magavin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Holliday looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Magavin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Magavin scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Magavin is controlling the pace.
Magavin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Holliday for as long as he can get away with. Magavin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Holliday with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magavin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Magavin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Magavin misses with a series of wild punches.
No joy there for Magavin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Mathas Holliday has been cut. Magavin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Magavin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Magavin moves in looking to clinch but Holliday pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magavin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. This has been an exciting period of action! Magavin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Magavin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Magavin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holliday paws at him with a jab and circles away. Decent striking displayed by Magavin there. Magavin fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Magavin. No joy for Holliday on that attempt. Magavin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Holliday napping and manages to drive through into side control! Magavin working the head with strikes. Magavin taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magavin is working Holliday over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magavin has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magavin controlling the pace for now. Holliday is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Magavin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Magavin unloading with bombs! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Magavin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Conner Magavin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Magavin throws a series of strikes that have Holliday backpedaling.

Magavin lands with a slapping head kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Holliday tries to keep at a distance but Magavin has taken the fight into the clinch. Holliday trying to control the position but instead, Magavin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Holliday into the cage. A shot in the inside from Magavin. Magavin tries to circle away but Holliday has him pinned against the cage. Holliday is breathing heavily. Holliday tries to pull guard but Magavin holds him up against the cage and eventually Holliday drops back down to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magavin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Magavin throws a right and a left that both miss. Magavin is looking to clinch. Holliday avoids a punch combination nicely.
Holliday takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Magavin shoots in but Holliday avoids the takedown attempt easily. Holliday takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Holliday gets caught flat footed, as Magavin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Magavin wants to pass the guard but Holliday is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magavin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Magavin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. You can see the frustration on Holliday's face as Magavin controls the position. Magavin stands up and we're back to a striking position. Magavin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Holliday can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holliday with a lazy takedown attempt and Magavin counters with a single leg into guard. Holliday didn't expect that. Conner Magavin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Magavin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Holliday takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Magavin decides to stand back up. Magavin steps back and let's Holliday get back to his feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Holliday. Conner Magavin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathas Holliday. Holliday was covering up waiting for the punch and Magavin finishes the takedown easily into guard. Magavin gets to his feet. Holliday looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Conner Magavin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Magavin misses with a double jab.

Holliday displaying some good clinch control by pressing Magavin up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Holliday is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. A nice glancing elbow lands by Holliday. Magavin tries to circle away but Holliday has him pinned against the cage.

Magavin has clasped his hands together around Holliday's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Holliday wants to get back to his feet but Magavin is dominant here and he's now got Holliday's back! Magavin is persistently looking for the submission but Holliday is defending it well.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Magavin is riding his opponent, not letting Holliday buck him off. Mathas Holliday has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Magavin is persistently looking for the submission but Holliday is defending it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Conner Magavin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Magavin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
