Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by Dude looks like a lady!. Bruce Lee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Lee! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ellis checks it well. Lee throws a head kick that misses. Lee tries to land a front kick but Ellis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ellis moves into range and clinches up with Lee. Ellis is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lee is defending well for now. Lee takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Bruce Lee has been cut. Ellis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Ellis. Lee tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ellis counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lee is lucky that one didn't land flush. Lee shoots for a double leg takedown but Ellis sprawls well. He's pushed Lee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ellis tries to clinch up. Lee misses with a kick to the body and Ellis counters with a nice body kick.
Ellis turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nice sprawl there from Lee as Ellis shoots in. Lee is looking to clinch. Ellis takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Ellis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A head kick by Lee misses and Ellis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ellis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lee, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee darts in trying to clinch and Ellis counters with a thumping low kick. Lee clinches but Ellis breaks the clinch and Ellis finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Lee looks gassed! A low kick from Lee is predictable there and Ellis moves into the clinch. Lee tries to break free but Ellis pushes him back against the cage. Lee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ellis has him pressed against the cage. Ellis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lee's defenses. Ellis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by Ellis which made him look bad. Chris Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Lee. A low kick from Lee misses and Ellis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ellis. Lee looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lee trying to keep a closed guard but Ellis is proving a slippery customer.
Ellis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now. Lee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ellis! Lee lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ellis's face.
Lee lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Lee unloading with bombs! Lee postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ellis looks a forlorn figure.
Ellis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ellis is working hard here to advance position. Lee working the ground and pound effectively.
Lee cracks Ellis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee dominating with strikes here. Lee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ellis is looking to escape. Ellis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lee has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ellis's face.
Lee landing strikes from the mount and Ellis is in trouble! Lee is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ellis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ellis shrugs it off. Lee looking to finish Ellis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ellis! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lee postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ellis looks a forlorn figure.
Ellis is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Ellis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bruce Lee's cut. That's time! Ellis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lee seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lee stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Lee throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ellis moves into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Lee has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ellis has had enough of the clinch but Lee keeps him there for the moment. Lee tries to break the clinch but Ellis is controlling the position. Ellis connects with a knee to the head.
Lee pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ellis tries to pull guard but Lee holds him up against the cage and eventually Ellis drops back down to his feet.
Lee lands an elbow inside that Ellis shrugs off. Lee is trying to break free. Lee looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Ellis tries to break the clinch but Lee is controlling the position. Lee gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee lands strikes from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis is defending against the submission attempts here by Lee.
Ellis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee. Lee prevents Ellis from improving his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lee lands a nice short elbow. Nice strikes from Lee there. Lee is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Lee looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ellis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Lee winds up and cracks Ellis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ellis has managed to free his arm - good work. Lee not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lee lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ellis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lee throwing shots but Ellis is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ellis defending well though. Ellis wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ellis sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ellis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ellis. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ellis's head. Lee scoring with some ground and pound. Lee throwing strikes from guard but Ellis blocks nicely. Lee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lee puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lee winds up and cracks Ellis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lee trying to control from Ellis's half guard. Ellis has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Ellis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ellis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Lee chips away with some ground and pound. Lee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ellis keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Bruce Lee's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A low kick from Lee is predictable there and Ellis counters by moving into the clinch. Lee wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ellis drags the fight down to the ground.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ellis looking for a guillotine here but Lee defends easily.
Lee landing with the ground and pound. Bruce Lee has got the better of the ground game so far. Ellis working for a triangle but Lee defends it easily.
Ellis keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ellis has momentary wrist control but Lee slips an elbow through the middle. Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ellis has an active guard here but Lee has managed to pass into half guard.
Lee is nestled in close to Ellis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ellis wants to improve his position but Lee is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lee works his way into side control. Lee scores with a couple of short elbows. Lee working the ground and pound. Lee is chipping away with strikes.
Lee connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ellis some visible discomfort.
Lee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ellis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lee misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee working the head with strikes. Lee working the head with strikes. Lee laying and praying for a moment but Ellis takes advantage and regains half guard. Ellis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ellis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lee not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ellis is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lee wants to pass the guard but Ellis is defending well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A combination from Lee does no damage. Ellis moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lee clinches but Ellis breaks the clinch and Ellis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee tries to land a leg kick but Ellis saw it coming and moves away.
Ellis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ellis is pressed up against the cage. Lee has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ellis down to the mat. Ellis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Horrible takedown by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by Ellis which made him look bad. Ellis looks to land a combination. Lee sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Lee throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ellis counters with a shoot takedown. Lee fights it but they end up in guard. Lee controls Ellis momentarily but Ellis frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Ellis showed his dominance in that final round. I think Ellis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
