The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
mcPherson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Punch!
mcPherson has hold of Punch's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Punch manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
mcPherson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Punch has worked his arm free - good work by Punch!
Punch throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

mcPherson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Punch did well to prevent mcPherson getting side control.
Punch looks like he's trying to stand up.

Punch throws a nice looking combination but mcPherson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Punch throws a low kick but it's checked well by mcPherson.
mcPherson throws a body punch but Punch moves out of range.
Punch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
mcPherson feints and as Punch raises his hands in defense, mcPherson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
mcPherson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Punch dives on top into guard.
Punch trying to stand up but can't free himself from mcPherson's guard.
mcPherson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

mcPherson controls Punch momentarily but Punch frees himself.
mcPherson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Punch is aware though and is defending well.

mcPherson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Punch has picked mcPherson up and slammed him! mcPherson can't keep hold of the triangle and Punch manages to pass to side control!

mcPherson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Punch's best efforts.
It looks like Punch is going to stand back up.
Punch tries to stand and escape but mcPherson actually recovers to full guard.

mcPherson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Punch passes into side control.
mcPherson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
mcPherson is looking to take a break and control but Punch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

mcPherson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Punch manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Punch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with mcPherson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Punch is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
mcPherson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Punch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Punch and mcPherson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
mcPherson tries to move to mount but Punch blocks the move with his legs.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
mcPherson shoots in for a takedown but Punch shows good takedown defense.
mcPherson moves out of range as Punch strikes.
Punch throws a big shot that misses.
Punch misses with a hook. mcPherson ducked under it nicely.
Punch slaps away a takedown attempt from mcPherson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
mcPherson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
mcPherson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punch wants to stand back up but mcPherson manages to pass into side control.
mcPherson works to advance to full mount. Punch defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
