Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Micheals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Burgundy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burgundy throws a leg kick but Micheals sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ron Burgundy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burgundy.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Micheals.
Burgundy can't do much from the bottom here.
Micheals looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Burgundy is avoiding damage well.
Micheals is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Burgundy's shoulder. That is not cool.

Micheals has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Micheals avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Micheals tries for a takedown but Burgundy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Burgundy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Micheals breaks from the clinch.
Burgundy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Micheals closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Burgundy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Micheals asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Micheals is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Burgundy will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Burgundy tries to bench press Micheals off him but Micheals keeps the position.

Micheals has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Micheals looks up at the clock and then as Burgundy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Micheals smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Burgundy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burgundy tries to lock up and control but Micheals gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Burgundy is trying to stand but he's just given Micheals his back.

Micheals is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Burgundy has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Micheals has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Burgundy taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Micheals doesn't care though - he's delighted!
