The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thorne gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Thorne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Thorne misses with a double jab
and Man cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice takedown defense from Man. No joy for Thorne on that attempt.
Man scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Thorne shoots in for a takedown but Man shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Thorne clinches with his opponent.

Thorne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Man keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Box Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Thorne.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thorne checks a leg kick.
Man scores with a nice strike.
Man throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Man throws a solid leg kick but Thorne takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Man.

Man throws a series of strikes that have Thorne backpedaling.
Man throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Man.
Man circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Thorne counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Thorne.
Man is trying to break the clinch but Thorne is controlling him.
Man wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Thorne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Man lands a jab-cross combination.
Thorne tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Man paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Man connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Man throws a sloppy head kick and Thorne moves out of range easily.

Thorne fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Man, pushing him back against the cage.
Thorne has Man pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Man manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Thorne looks gassed!
Man wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thorne has him pressed against the cage.

Thorne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Man misses with a two punch combination.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Man!

Thorne shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thorne connects with a nice short shot to Man's temple.
Thorne is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Thorne passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Man!
Thorne lands a big elbow.
Thorne tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Man is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Thorne locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Man is forced to tap!
