Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between DJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernest Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bass darts in and clinches Penn up against the cage.
Bass breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bass keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Penn.
Bass throws a one two combo.
Bass stuns Penn with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ernest Bass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bass's waist but Bass gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side.
Bass closes the distance and clinches.
Penn wants to get back to striking at distance but Bass won't allow it.
Penn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bass looks for the body kick but Penn saw that one coming.
Bass stalks Penn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Penn's face. Penn staggers backwards, shaken.

Penn tries to clinch up but Bass circles away and keeps his distance.

Penn fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bass can't escape the position.
Penn stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ernest Bass dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bass shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Penn pinned against the cage. Penn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Penn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bass scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Penn doesn't seem bothered though.

Bass feints and then cracks Penn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Penn down.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Penn tries to keep at a distance but Bass has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bass wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Penn has him pressed against the cage.

Penn drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bass gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bass scores with a nice hook to the head.
Penn manages to break the clinch.
Bass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bass controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bass is looking to stand up but Penn won't let him.

Bass must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Penn is stalling here. Bass is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Penn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bass has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ernest Bass showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bass but Bass pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Bass counters with a three punch combo that has Penn backing up. Penn nods at Bass to acknowledge the strikes.

DJ Penn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bass manages to pass to side control.
Penn is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bass scores with a couple of nice shots.
Penn tries to kick Bass off in order to stand up. Bass Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Penn is refusing to be controlled, as Bass sits in half guard.
Penn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Penn has his foot on Bass's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bass works his way back into a safe position though.
Penn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bass's guard.
Penn stands up from Bass's guard - Penn perhaps looking for a knockout.

Bass lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Penn circles away quickly and effectively.
DJ Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Penn shoots in looking for a takedown. Bass tries to sprawl out of it but Penn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bass manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I would just about give that final round to Ernest Bass.
I've got Bass winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
