The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shmitt drops Montes with a left right combo! Shmitt follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like Harry Montes has been cut.
Shmitt decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Shmitt scores with a hook.
Montes is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Montes slips a straight right by Shmitt.
Montes blocks the body kick.
Montes shoots in and drives through. Shmitt sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Montes or perhaps it was just good defense by Shmitt which made him look bad.
Shmitt clinches up with Montes and pushes him back against the cage.
Shmitt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Montes blocks a head kick by Shmitt.
Montes seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Shmitt shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Montes is backing up but Shmitt catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Montes covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Shmitt Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Shmitt!
