The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Murphy looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Reyes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Murphy throwing strikes but missing. Reyes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murphy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Murphy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Murphy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Reyes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murphy is one step ahead there. Murphy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Murphy postures up and lands a big shot to Reyes's brow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murphy tries to free his leg and advance position but Reyes is retaining full guard. Murphy is in close to Reyes's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy advances position into side control! Reyes is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Reyes tries to improve position but can't. Murphy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reyes regains half guard. Murphy passes to full mount! Murphy landing strikes, looking to finish! Murphy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Reyes is trying to escape the mount.
Reyes gets back to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Murphy lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes has hold of Murphy's hands but Murphy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Reyes looking for submissions off his back. Reyes looks gassed! Reyes looking for submissions off his back. Murphy tries to pass to full mount but Reyes defends it. Reyes is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Murphy scores with a couple of nice shots. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reyes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Murphy is looking to take a break and control but Reyes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Murphy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Reyes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Murphy drops an elbow to the side of Reyes's head. Reyes tries to get to full guard but Murphy has control of the leg.

Murphy lands strikes from half guard. Murphy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Murphy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Reyes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Murphy pulls his head out easily. Murphy looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy passes the guard and advances to mount! Murphy in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Reyes is working to get back to half guard.
Murphy lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Murphy is in the full mount, landing strikes. Murphy has hold of Reyes's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reyes manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Murphy is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reyes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Reyes is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murphy is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Murphy!
