And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Baum!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bach avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bach swats away the attempt to clinch by Baum.
Bach doesn't manage to clinch there - Baum circles away.
A left and a right from Baum both land. Nice combination.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Baum!
Bach slips a jab and a cross from Baum.
Baum leaves Bach with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bach looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baum is fending him off so far but Bach persists. Nope, Baum circles away and we're back to standing.
Bach throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baum's waist but Baum gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bach off to one side.

Baum takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Baum uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bach has time to react.

Baum wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bach manages to pass to side control.

Baum is not content to let Bach control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bach in particular looking to stall.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baum can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bach tries to stand but can't do so whilst Baum controls his leg.
Bach wants to pass to mount but Baum is defending the position.
Baum is refusing to be controlled, as Bach sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bach changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baum tries to avoid it but Bach manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baum to the ground. Baum escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Baum lands a lovely overhand right.

That was a close round but I would say that John Bach will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bach shoots for a double leg takedown but Baum sprawls well. He's pushed Bach's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bach postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Baum is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bach, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bach has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baum can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bach tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Baum gets to his feet. Bach looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Baum wants to clinch but Bach slips to the side

and Bach counters by moving into the clinch.
Bach jumps guard but Baum stands there with Bach around his waist. Bach gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bach is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Baum really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bach tries to control but Baum wriggling away.

Bach goes for an armbar but Baum turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Baum.

Baum decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bach, up you get!

Baum tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bach swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Baum throws a right hand that Bach ducks under and follows up with a left that Bach also avoids with ease.
Baum stuffs the takedown attempt from Bach. Bach gets slowly back to his feet.
Baum digs a good hook to Bach's body.

and Baum counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bach is trying to drag Baum to the mat but Baum just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Baum wants to get back to striking at distance but Bach won't allow it.

Baum escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bach shoots in for a double leg but Baum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Baum scores with a nice strike.
Bach on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Bach avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baum scores with a one two! Bach had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Baum connects with a body shot.
Baum throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bach stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Baum closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Baum wants to break free but Bach has control.

Bach has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Baum uses from the top position.
