Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kong Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le comes to the cage accompanied by Ave Maria. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kong Le!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stan Winner!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Le is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Winner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Le tries a head kick but it misses.
Winner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Le as he avoids it easily.
Le with a jab.
Winner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Winner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kong Le has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Winner.
Winner shoots in but no luck this time.
Le throws a solid leg kick but Winner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Le.
Le uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Winner.
Winner's corner calls for a 1-2. Winner obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Winner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Le sprawls well. Le wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Winner gets slowly back to his feet.

Winner throws an overhand right that lands on Le's shoulder, as Le tries to avoid the shot.
Winner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Le uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Winner.

Le defending well as Winner loads up on a big left hand.
Kong Le is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Winner looks to throw the jab but Le is out of range.
Le looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Le looks to land a combination. Winner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Winner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Le's waist but Le gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Winner off to one side.
Le misses with a low kick as Winner jumps back.
Le throws a leg kick but Winner checks it.
A big left from Winner misses.

Winner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Winner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Le.
Le throws a front kick aimed at Winner's knee but Winner avoids it well.
Winner misses with a few strikes there.
Le misses with a head kick.
Winner throws a body punch but Le moves out of range.

Winner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Winner working away.
Le is trying to get back to his feet.
Winner trying to control the action but Le is working from the bottom.
Winner tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Le is trying to control Winner's posture but Winner avoids it.
Le is looking to reverse the position.
Winner misses with the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Winner fails to land the takedown.
Le tries to work over Winner's front leg with a kick but Winner checks it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Winner, as that shot connected.
Le wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Le misses with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Winner. Le does a little dance to reset his feet.
Le throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Winner on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Le. Le obviously looking to wear him down.
Le bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Le uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Winner.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kong Le dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Le lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Winner misses with a body punch
and Le counters with a nice low kick that buckles Winner's knee momentarily.
Nice takedown defense from Le. No joy for Winner on that attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Winner.
Winner lands a lovely overhand right.
Le walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fighters circling - Winner throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Le throws a leg kick but Winner moved away.

Winner tries to bum rush Le with a series of wild strikes but Le uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Le keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Winner.

and Le counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kong Le has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Winner.

Winner looks to throw the jab but Le is out of range.

Winner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Le napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Winner throws an elbow but Le slips to the side and avoids it well.

Le manages to get back to half guard.
Winner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Le avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winner.

Winner looks to land a strike but Le avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Winner postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Le is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Winner, into his guard.
Le wants to stand but Winner is controlling his posture from full guard.

Le stands up from Winner's guard - Le perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nice defenses there by Le.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kong Le dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Winner misses with a hook.
Winner blocks a head kick by Le.
Le slips a straight right by Winner.
Le slips under a jab from Winner.
Winner throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Winner connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Le momentarily.
Le moves away from the strike by Winner.
Winner pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kong Le is winning the standup battle so far.
Winner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Le.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Winner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winner looks to land a combination but Le avoids it well.

Winner might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Winner shoots for a double leg takedown but Le sprawls well. He's pushed Winner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Winner throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Le keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Winner.

and Winner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Winner scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Le throws a leg kick which misses Winner's front leg but catches the back leg as Winner tries to avoid it.

Winner has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Le finds it's way round the side to connect with Winner's head.
Le bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Winner misses with a body shot
and Le counters with a good low kick that Winner was not able to check.
Le moves out of range of the strikes.
Le misses with a low kick.
Le tries to work over Winner's front leg with a kick but Winner checks it.
Winner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Le moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Le throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Good leg kick by Le there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stan Winner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Winner.
Winner scores with a one two! Le had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Le misses with a straight left.
A slapping leg kick lands for Le.
Le tried to score with a low kick but Winner checks it.
Le throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kong Le is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Le counters with a thumping low kick.
Winner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Winner connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Le lands with an uppercut that bounces Winner off the cage and back into rage.

and Le counters with a slapping leg kick.
Stan Winner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Le, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
